Indian School Muladha turns Wudam Beach spick and span
MUSCAT: The volunteers of Young Communitarians of Indian School – YCIS engaged themselves in a cleaning activity at Wudam beach from 7 am to 9 am on 24th of November, 2018 exhibiting great zeal and commitment towards environment protection. A team of 24 volunteers led by Arjun Ramachandran YCIS – Teacher Incharge and a team of teachers actively participated in the cleaning programme, removing the pile of waste which lay scattered at various areas of the beach.
The beach cleaning campaign was organised as part of the activities of YCIS wing in Indian School Muladha under the aegis of Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman. The staff from the municipality provided the volunteers with gloves, kits and a vehicle to ensure a hassle free removal of waste. YCIS volunteers were very enthusiastic right from the start and managed to clean a wide area of the beach through their excellent teamwork.
The officials from the municipality were pleased with the efforts put in by the students and expressed their gratitude for the tidy work done. The volunteers were overwhelmed at the end of the activity seeing the result of their hard work. This project was successful as it inculcated a feeling of responsibility and respect for the environment in the volunteers. They understood how their little act could make such a big transformation to the environment.
This project will definitely spread the fervour for social service and environment protection among the volunteers as well as the other students in the school. The parents were overjoyed and hailed the efforts put in by the volunteers for the cause of nature conservation. The members of the School Management Committee expressed their appreciation to all the members of Young Communitarians of Indian School in Indian School Muladha for this noble deed. Siddique Hassan, the President of the School Management Committee congratulated the entire YCIS team for their show of commitment and encouraged them to continue the good work in future too. S.I. Shareef, the Principal of Indian School Muladha was delighted with the exemplary effort put in by the YCIS volunteers and appreciated all the team members for their excellent coordination and dedicated service.
