27th Annual Sports Meet at Indian School Nizwa

MUSCAT: Indian School Nizwa organised its 27th Annual Sports Meet on December 6, at Nizwa Sports Complex, Haythurath.

The chief guest for the occasion Fazal ur Rahman, PresidentSchool Managing Committee, Guests of Honour Mufeed Pulath, Academic sub-committee ChairSMC, Sunil Prakash Pillai, member-SMC, other members of the SMC along with the parents added colour and fervour to the occasion.

The gathering was welcomed by Syeda Kulsum of class VII. Soon after, the march past headed by the Head boy - Rajat Krishnan and Head Girl - Geethu Peter, started. Watching the students of Blue, Green, Red and Yellow houses march in perfect synchronisation, unison and coordination was a treat to the eyes.

The Sports Captain Akhil S. Gopan administered the oath which instilled a feeling of camaraderie among all. This was followed by the lighting of the Olympic torch by Sidhanth the outgoing Sports Champion of the school.

Then the sports meet was declared open by the chief guest. The attraction of the evening was the cultural bonanza comprising of mass drill by the senior boys and aerobics by the senior girls.

After this the students show cased their unity, understanding, will power and sportsman spirit in the various athletic events.

The winners and the individual champions were felicitated by the chief guest and the other SMC members. Sidhanth and Aswathy BS received the best out going athlete award.

The whole arena exploded with a thunderous applause when Green House was declared the overall Sports Champion of the Annual Sports Meet 2018-19.

The sports day ended with the vote of thanks by the Sports Captain Aswathy B. S.
