Indian School Rustaq celebrates Sports Day
MUSCAT: Indian School Rustaq held the 26th Annual Sports Day on December 6, 2018 which was attended by dignitaries, parents, staff and students. The Chief Guest, Ahmed Bin Nasser Bin Saif Al Adawai, Director of Educational Needs Planning at Ministry of Education, Rustaq and Guest of Honour Selvichen Jacob, Director of Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman took the salute as the contingents of the three houses – Green, Blue & Red marched smartly past as the spectators acknowledged them with thunderous applause. After the oath taking ceremony the chief guest declared the meet open.
It was a moment of great pride for the athletes as they stood on the victory stand and received their medals and trophies from the chief guest and the guest of honour.
The students of Red House burst into a frenzy of excitement and ran a victory lap around the field with their house flag flying high when they were declared the winners of ‘Overall House Trophy’.
The President of the School Management Committee Abdulla Paneguri delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Principal Biju Varghese. The Convenor of SMC Riyaz Khan, Treasurer of SMC Rafiq Rahman and SMC Member Vinod Kumar congratulated the students for their active participation in the sports meet.
The Sports Day of ISR was a true celebration as it brought out the competitive spirit and sportsmanship of the students. The dazzling drill displays which interspersed the sporting events added splendour to the meet.
