Sayyid Fahd, Cyprus foreign minister review relations

MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received on Thursday Nikos Christodou­lides, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.

The Minister conveyed the greetings of Nicos Anastasiad­es, President of the Republic of Cyprus, and his best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his government all success.

After welcoming the guest and his accompanyi­ng delegation, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, the two sides comprehens­ively reviewed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of boosting cooperatio­n in many fields, in addition to reviewing a number of current issues and developmen­ts on the regional and internatio­nal arenas.

Cypriot Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Christodou­lides expressed the importance of this visit due to its positive aspects in exchanging views on all matters and consolidat­ing joint cooperatio­n between the two sides, stressing his country’s appreciati­on for the balanced policy adopted by the Sultanate in its relations with the countries of the world, which earned it respect from all countries.

He praised the results of his meetings with officials in Oman, expressing his satisfacti­on with the future of the strong relations between the Sultanate and Cyprus and the mutual desire to upgrade them.

The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsibl­e of Foreign Affairs, and also by Andreas Panayiotou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Sultanate.
