-

Over the period the Sohar steel Group have established itself as the most prominent industrial house for the Steel products in the Sultanate. The group enjoys ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and ISO 18000 certifications for its production facilities. The rebar products are third party certified by both CARES and DCL, of M/s UKAS and M/s Dubai Municipality respectively. In year 2018 Sohar Steel LLC received prestigious Sustainable ConstructionSteel (Sustainability) certification from M/s CAREs .

The products are now EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) verified by M/s BRE Global and published in http://www.greenbooklive.com.

EPDs listed in Greenbooklive and Eco Platform cover the whole life cycle assessment of environmental impact of Constructional Steels from raw materials through manufacturing to use, disposal, reuse, recovery and recycling. This enables ‘CARES Sustainability’ approved firms to provide the necessary evidence to achieve the maximum number of credits in green building rating systems such as BREEAM New Construction 2014 [MAT 03 – Responsible sourcing of materials] as well as similar credits in LEED and Estidama.)

Presently the group has three major production units under its fold :

1. Sohar Steel LLC – With an annual capacity to produce 650,000 tons of Steel Billets and 480,000 tons of rebars. A ‘cutting and bending’ facility is also available in the premise to cater to requirements of construction industries.
