Bank Nizwa raises awareness on Islamic finance
MUSCAT: In line with its strategy to raise awareness on Islamic finance, Bank Nizwa recently supported the publishing of the latest edition of the book series ‘Al-Mutamid: Financial Transactions in Islamic Jurisprudence’ by Sheikh Al Mutasim bin Said Al Mawali, Religious Studies Supervisor at Sultan Qaboos University.
The partnership will also contribute to empowering Omani writers to create, share, publish their literary works, and above all thrive within their communities.
The book was recently launched during the Muscat International Book Fair 2019. It comes as part of a series of editions that were launched in the past few years, highlighting various jurisprudences including prayers, fasting, and pilgrimage among others. The latest edition generated interest from readers and good reviews helping it be one of the most popular recently published books in Oman. Bank Nizwa also signed an agreement with Sheikh Al Mutasim to support him in publishing his next book, which will focus on Islamic banking, trends and use in modern times.
Khalid Al Kayed, CEO of Bank Nizwa said, “Bank Nizwa’s support in publishing the latest edition of the book series “Al-Mutamid stems from our belief in the value of raising awareness over Islamic finance and the practicality of the message the book is delivering in our lives. We are always here to empower Omani talent from different backgrounds and specialities, it is about ensuring such books are appreciated and heard on a large scale for a lasting impact that benefits the broader literary community across the Sultanate.”
Since inception over six years ago, Bank Nizwa has been an active supporter of community initiatives in a multitude of areas including arts, literary, and sports to name but a few. Deeply rooted in the community, the bank’s volunteering platform ‘Masoliyati’ also enables the bank’s employees and volunteers to be part of various charitable initiatives across the Sultanate. To date, the programme has successfully organised several volunteering projects that reflect the bank’s true values that transcend offering Islamic financial services to ensure the wellbeing of the community.
