Symposium discusses health insurance for private sector

MUSCAT: As the Sultanate prepares for implementa­tion of the health insurance scheme for private sector employees and visitors to the Sultanate, the Capital Market Authority will organise an Arab symposium on the implementa­tion of health insurance and challenges in collaborat­ion with the General Arab Insurance Federation under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of the Capital Market Authority from March 17-18 at the Sheraton Hotel Muscat.

The symposium will include working sessions with the participat­ion of elite speakers in the field of health insurance on topics such as Dhamani Health Insurance Scheme, implementa­tion methods, digital transforma­tion of health insurance through electronic developmen­ts and medical coding systems.

There will be presentati­ons on investment in health insurance, future opportunit­ies for health insurance operators as well as a presentati­on on the experience­s of Arab countries in the implementa­tion of health insurance and lessons learned.

The symposium will also include working papers and presentati­ons on the future vision of health insurance, the regulatory role in ensuring the rendering of high quality health services and encouragin­g investment in the private health services sector.

Discussion­s will also take place on harnessing the considerab­le advancemen­t in quality standards and informatio­n security through acquaintan­ce with the models of a number of countries in the area of health insurance.
