ABQ school children say a big thank you on Mother’s Day
MUSCAT: The above expression belongs to On Thursday the 21st of March 2019 Azzan Bin Qais International School celebrated one of the most valued days of the year, Mother’s day. A day in which we as teachers, administration and management get to see our students thank their mothers, the first learning source they ever had.
Our celebrations are annual but in an effort to be constantly ever-changing and exciting this year’s celebrations were a little different. The day started with a morning ode of affection by students from all the grades within the school who greeted the mothers at the gate with smiles and goodies. As the day progressed the Kg and Key Stage 1 departments had their own show in which the students got a chance to join their mothers for an interactive Zumba session and after having quite the thrill of an exercise they were invited to sit back and unwind as the students treated the mothers to special themed performances which portrayed the gratitude they had for their mothers and even included performances that highlighted the journey of a mother and how vital she is in our live. Their events concluded with a breakfast that got the mothers to bond with their children and each other over scrumptious bites.
The rest of the school joined in the celebration with special in class talks and discussions about mothers and they helped us decorate the school in special candid moments with their mothers captured on camera and displayed all around for us to remember just how special their mothers are. The excitement was best seen during break times when you can overhear the students sharing the memories behind the pictures as they show each other the pictures on the boards.
