Comtec Group opens its first showroom in Oman

MUSCAT: Comtec Group International, the UK’s leading supplier of telecoms, datacoms and audiovisual products for over four decades, opened its first showroom in Oman at Bausher, Muscat.

Comtec, which specialises in global product sourcing and supply chain management outsourcing services for telecoms operators and systems integrators, has been a supplier to telecoms giants in the Gulf region, including Ooredoo, Batelco and Etisalat for more than 30 years.

The showroom was inaugurated by Hamish Cowell, British Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and was followed by a VIP dinner at the Crowne Plaza hotel which was attended by top-level officials from both the government and private sector.

With the establishment of Comtec Oman customers here can now benefit from superior British quality products, locallybased technical support, competitive prices and exceptional customer service.

Comtec supplies an extensive range of communications products, including Cat6 and 6A copper cabling systems from leading European and British manufacturers such as Ultima and CommScope, a wide range of fiber optic cables and connectivity, data cabinets, networking equipment and test instruments.

Comtec Group’s clients in the UK include the 3 largest telcos -British Telecom, Virgin Media and Sky. Through acquisition and organic growth, the company has also become the largest independent distributor of communications products to installation contractors who serve the enterprise sector in the UK, with annual sales revenue exceeding £70 million.

Apart from the United Kingdom, the group also has facilities in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China and, as of this week, Oman.
