IHE delivers new Renault 'K' range Primemover­s to TruckOman

MUSCAT: Internatio­nal Heavy Equipment (IHE), a part of the Zubair Automotive Group, recently sold 12 units of its new truck models, Renault “K” range (6x4) Primemover­s.

The event took place recently at TruckOman head office complex in Jiffnain and saw Ram Mohan, General Manager of IHE hand over the vehicle to Chris Fidler, CEO of TruckOman Equipment Rental. This delivery is in line with the PDO contract with Schlumberg­er to utilise the trucks over the various rough terrains found in the desert.

Commenting on the sale, Ram Mohan, said, “With the delivery of a new range of Renault trucks, IHE seeks to reinforce their commitment towards providing only the best in customer service. We are certain that these robust offroad trucks will be a welcome addition to TruckOman in their dayto-day activities.”

The new Renault “K” range of trucks hosts a number of unique features. With a front and rear ground clearance of 440mm and 395mm respective­ly, it also has an approach angle of 32 degrees and turning angle of 9 metres, all of which are considered to be best in the industry. The highly appraised trapezoid shaped driver cabin has a 12-degree windscreen angle, allowing for higher fuel efficiency. The opti brake on the trucks is a combinatio­n of exhaust brakes and valve compressio­n brakes, boasting of power of 414kw at 2300 rpm, coupled with service brakes. This ensures an extremely high braking efficiency when it comes to slopes and off-road terrain. The Electronic Braking System (EBS) includes the electronic parking brake and the most powerful engine retarder for high levels of safety and brake performanc­e, as well as hill start and emergency brake assists.

Its unique engine software comprises of off-road strategy settings, such as high rpm and torque shifting, with the manual throttle being the highlight.

There were also several driver and safety training carried out of the course of the vehicle delivery.
