MSM index ends higher

The top gainer was Oman Fisheries which closed up by 5.33% while the top loser was Bank Dhofar which closed down by 2.21%.

MUSCAT: MSM30 index closed up by 0.47 per cent at 4,036.40 points. The Sharia index closed up by 0.08 per cent at 541.71 points. Oman Fisheries, up 5.33%, was the top gainer. Bank Dhofar, down 2.21 per cent, was the top loser.

OIFC was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 667 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR 3.25 million with more than 23.40 million shares changing hands.

Out of 39 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 6 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR 164,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR 87,000 followed by local investors for OMR 77,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 6,574.90 points, up 0.26%. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Muscat, Oman United Insurance, Taageer Finance, and Sohar Internatio­nal Bank were up by 2.3%, 2.27%, 2.18%, 2.08%, and 1.8% respective­ly. Bank Dhofar, Alizz Islamic Bank, Gulf Investment Services Holding, and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were down by 2.21%, 1.41%, 1.39%, and 1.14% respective­ly.

Industrial Index closed at 4,421.13 points, up 0.37%. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineerin­g, and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 5.33%, 2.63%, and 0.96% respective­ly. Al Maha Ceramics closed down 0.58%.

Services index closed up 0.25% at 1,955.35 points. OIFC, Al Suwadi Power, and Ooredoo were up by 3.45%, 1.39%, and 1.15% respective­ly. Al Batinah Power closed 1.41% lower at OMR 0.070.
