MSM index ends lower

The top gainer was Dhofar Cattle Feed which closed up by 10.00% while the top loser was Al Suwadi Power which closed down by 2.74%

MUSCAT: MSM30 index closed down by 0.28% at 4,024.98 points. The Sharia index closed up down 0.05% at 541.97 points. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 10.00%, was the top gainer. Al Suwadi Power, down 2.74%, was the top loser. OIFC was the most active in terms of the number of shares as well as in terms of turnover.

A total number of 624 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR 1.53 million with more than 11.90 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR 36,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR 27,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR 9,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 6,567.46 points, down 0.11%. Global Financial Investment, Al Sharqia Investment, Ahli Insurance and Oman United Insurance were up by 4.62%, 4.60%, 4.43% and 2.99% respectively. Al Omaniya Financial Service, Bank Muscat and Al Madina Takaful were down by 2.04%, 1.78% and 1.22% respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 4,439.17 points, up 0.41%. Dhofar Cattle feed, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were up by 10.00%, 3.8% and 2.27% respectively. No Losers from the Sector Industrial.

Services index closed down 0.21% at 1,951.23 points. National Gas, OIFC and SMN Power were up by 4.83%, 1.67% and 1.43% respectively. Al Suwadi Power, Al Jazeera Service, Omantel, Al Batinah Power and Ooredoo were down by 2.74%, 2.31%, 1.71%, 1.43% and 0.75% respectively.
