WCS get comfortabl­e win over TGW; Al Jadidi beat Masters

MUSCAT: Sakshi Shetty struck a solid 45 not out to help Women’s Cricket Sohar (WCS) to a comfortabl­e 9-wicket win over Team Ghubrah Women (TGW) in a Women’s League T20 game at Oman Cricket’s grassy ground 1 on Monday.

TGW failed to capitalise on the opportunit­y to bat first, managing to score only 73 for 7 in 20 overs. Shreya Sandesh Dhuri topscored with 31. Snehal Nair took 2 for 17.

WCS raced to the target in only 10.1 overs, scoring 75 for 1 thanks to brilliant batting by Sakshy Shetty who scored an unbeaten 45.

WCS was restricted to 98 for 8 in 20 overs, Bhavya Shetty and Renu Sharma contributi­ng 20 each. Payal Kanojia and Merita Pinto were the pick of ISC bowlers, taking two wickets each.

ISC was made to sweat in its run chase before it crossed the line in the 20th over, scoring 99 for 8. Merita Pinto topscored with 16 not out while Geetha Jagdish scored 12.
