MSM index ends lower

The top gainer was Al Hassan Engineerin­g which closed higher by 4.76% while the top loser was OIFC which closed lower by 4.50%

MUSCAT: MSM30 index closed at 3,950.89 down 0.05 per cent. The Sharia index closed down by 0.67 per cent at 543.86. Al Hassan Engineerin­g, up 4.76 per cent, was the top gainer. OIFC, down 4.50 per cent, was the top loser. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.

A total number of 269 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.05 million with more than 4.36 million shares changing hands.

Out of 33 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 13 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR170,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR111,000 followed by local investors for OMR59,000 worth of shares.

at 6,263.55 points, down 0.16 per cent. Ominvest and Bank Muscat were up by 0.59 per cent and 0.47 per cent respective­ly. Vision Insurance, Al Madina Takaful, and Sohar Internatio­nal Bank were down by 3.85 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.94 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index closed at 4,390.43 points, down 0.64 per cent. Al Hassan Engineerin­g was up by 4.76 per cent. Oman Cement, Galfar Engineerin­g, Raysut Cement and Voltamp Energy were down by 1.63 per cent, 1.35 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.23 per cent respective­ly.

Services index closed up 47 per cent at 1,905.39 points respective­ly. Al Batinah Power was 1.67 per cent. OIFC, Musandam Power, Sembcorp Salalah, Al Jazeera Service and Ooredoo were down by 4.5 per cent, 1.3 per cent, 0.78 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.39 per cent respective­ly.
