BankDhofar receives excellence award
BankDhofar was recognised for its CSR initiatives
MUSCAT: In recognition of its role as one of the leading financial institutions in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, BankDhofar recently received ‘ Excellence Award for CSR Initiatives and Programmes’ by the Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility.
The award was received by Ahmed Said Al Ibrahim, General Manager & Chief Corporate Services Officer at BankDhofar, during a high profile function that was held at held in Dubai. The event was attended by representatives from various prominent institutions and dignitaries from the Arab world and recognised the achievements of the winning organisations from various Arab countries.
Upon receiving the award, Ahmed Said Al Ibrahim, General Manager & Chief Corporate Services Officer at BankDhofar said: “We are very delighted to have been recognised with this prestigious award, which endorses our efforts in CSR initiatives. At BankDhofar we are always keen to make a positive difference in the community we operate in through our strategic CSR programmes. The bank also strives to ensure that its contributions are carefully planned and evaluated to diversify and reach out to the maximum number of people especially those in most need of it.”
The Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility is a Nongovernmental organisation established to conduct researches and studies about the nature of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Arab region, and the goals that can be achieved by spreading this culture within Arab societies. It also works towards highlighting the role of CSR in achieving sustainable development in the fields of environment, tourism, economics, agriculture and manufacturing. The organisation works with ministries and public institutions in the Arab region to establish international standards for CSR in the region and encouraging local institutions to participate in international conferences and seminars on the latest standards for CSR the world over.
