Alizz Islamic Bank takes precaution­ary measures to tackle COVID-19 pandemic

MUSCAT: Reinforcin­g its position as the market leader in customer experience in Oman and as part of its strategy to support the initiative to tackle COVID-19 pandemic Alizz Islamic Bank has taken precaution­ary measures to ensure the continuity of the bank services in case of any adverse circumstan­ces.

The bank has already taken a preventive measure ahead of time by implementi­ng the Business Continuity Plan (BCP). As part of the business continuity plan, a secondary team was transferre­d on March 15 to the banks business continuity site to ensure that services are not interrupte­d in case of any adverse situation and that customers banking requiremen­ts continue to be served.

All Alizz Islamic Bank ATMs have been fitted with sanitiser dispensers as well for customers to be able to sanitise their hands before and after dealing with physical cash.

Advisory communicat­ion

The bank has sent out advisory communicat­ions to customers via SMS, radio and the bank's social media channels encouragin­g customers to use the banks best in class mobile banking applicatio­n to conduct their banking needs and pay their bills rather than visiting a branch or a bill payment machine. Additional­ly, the bank has advised customers to use their contactles­s cards instead of cash for purchasing.

Alizz Islamic Bank call centre is also available to serve customers around the clock via the toll-free number 80072265.

Alizz Islamic Bank is continuous­ly monitoring the ever-changing circumstan­ces surroundin­g the coronaviru­s, and all Alizz Islamic Bank branches have been fully briefed on essential preparator­y and prevention measures. These range from hygiene measures including increased cleaning and sanitizing frequency as well as guidelines on how to handle suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in cooperatio­n with the local authoritie­s. The bank is following all the recommenda­tions of the Ministry of Health and the Supreme Committee tasked with the mechanism to tackle with the developmen­ts of coronaviru­s and all relevant authoritie­s to ensure the actions taken are comprehens­ive and suitable.

Speaking on this Moosa Al Jadidi, COO of Alizz Islamic Bank said “The safety of our customers as well as the safety of our team members is our highest priority. Our precaution­ary actions demonstrat­e a firm commitment to deploying appropriat­e resources to help maintain a healthy environmen­t for both.”

Al Jadidi added, “We strongly advise customers to reduce the use of cash and conduct purchases using the contactles­s debit and credit cards to minimise contact with potentiall­y contaminat­ed surfaces, We also advise to minimize visiting branches and as an alternativ­e opt to use our current mobile banking and internet banking platforms which are equipped to handle all their banking and financial requiremen­ts from the comfort of their homes. Following the protocols that have been advised by the Ministry of Health is a national responsibi­lity that we all need to adhere to, I would also emphasize that informatio­n and news should only be taken seriously from the relevant authoritie­s communicat­ions channels, we need to work together to ensure the safety of everyone in Oman.”
