Both 2020 Sierra Heavy Duty and 1500 Light Duty are designed to meet the needs of the modern full-size truck owner with their various connectivity and convenience technologies.
The 2020 Sierra offers available Adaptive Cruise Control, which can automatically regulate its speed in respect to the vehicle in front, without any driver input for enhanced safety. The system features a highmounted camera to monitor the road ahead and can bring the Sierra to a complete stop should it detect an impending collision.
World’s first MultiPro Tailgate
GMC Sierra also offers the world’s first MultiPro Tailgate, standard on Denali and AT4 and for 2020 available on the SLE and Elevation trims. With six unique functions and positions offering enhanced second-tier loading and load-stop solutions, a standing workstation and easy access to items in the box, giving customers more functionality and versatility from their truck.
Design exclusively for the Sierra 1500 with the MultiPro tailgate. The Kicker MultiPro Sound System accessory† is a 100-watt exterior audio system neatly integrated within MultiPro’s inner gate panel. The system incorporates two 10cm coaxial drivers, a compact amplifier and controls, a USB port for device charging and flash memory playback, along with full Bluetooth streaming compatibility.
The 2020 Sierra also gets a segment-first Rear Camera Mirror, with the available dual-function interior rearview mirror with a camera view display that provides an unobstructed wide view of the number of occupants or amount of cargo notwithstanding. Furthermore, this next-generation system features the ability to tilt or zoom the view for greater flexibility and safety.
Supplementing the unprecedented visibility is the 2020 Sierra’savailable Adaptive Ride Control suspension system, which ensures exceptional stability, safety and ride quality. It provides continuous ride damping through sophisticated sensors that monitor road conditions and chassis response in real-time, enabling adjustments to active dampers every two milliseconds.
Fuel-conserving tech
Another technological innovation in the 2020 GMC Sierra is the Dynamic Fuel Management system - an evolution of the much-lauded Active Fuel Management system which reduces fuel consumption. The segment-first technology can detect when the Sierra is cruising on the highway and shuts down the required number of cylinders to optimise fuel consumption.
There are a staggering 17 different modes of cylinder deactivation. However, once additional power is called upon it seamlessly re-activates the optimal number of cylinders to provide additional propulsion. The cylinder de-activation technology means the power benefits of a V-8 engine and fuel economy of a much smaller unit depending on the driving condition. Dynamic Fuel Management is available on 5.3L V-8 and 6.2L V-8 engines in the 2020 Sierra Double and Crew Cab models.
Premium connectivity
Given the demands of the modern truck-buyer, the Sierra features a host of connectivity technologies. For instance, it gets an available enhanced GMC Infotainment System that incorporates Android
Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. For those who want more from their Sierra, a premium GMC Infotainment System that incorporates a higher-resolution touchscreen, advanced personalization features, and voice recognition functionality is also available.
Unrivalled trailering experience
However, advanced engineering is not just for connectivity and infotainment – the 2020 Sierra HD harnesses the power of technology to deliver an unrivalled trailering experience. Featuring class-leading available 15 camera views, including a segment-first transparent trailer view to virtually see through a trailer in tow.
This is bolstered by a segmentexclusive available 15-inch-diagonal head-up display that projects useful trailering information, including vehicle speed, navigation information and an inclinometer display for the road grade.
Furthermore, an Auto Electric Park Brake to automatically apply the parking brake to help maintain the track position when hitching, is also available. While an all-new Park Grade Hold Assist enhances hill hold by using braking effort at each wheel for an extended period.
