Launch of advanced services, facilities in neonatolog­y services at Badr Al Samaa Sohar

MUSCAT: Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Sohar, since its launch in August last year, has been introducin­g newer medical programmes and upgrading existing department with advanced technology and expertise. One such important department, neonatolog­y, has been upgraded to cater to extremely low birth weight and pre-term babies.

The upgraded services and facilities in the neonatolog­y department of Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Sohar were inaugurate­d by Dr Najat Mohammed Issa Al Zadjali, Director of Directorat­e General of Private Health Establishm­ents, North Al Batinah Governorat­e in the presence of Dr Mohammed Said Al Reesi, Visiting Consultant Paediatric­ian & Infectious Diseases, Sameer P T, CEO, Jacob Oomen, COO, Manoj Kumar, Branch Head, doctors and staff. Special attention and adherence was given to COVID-19 protocols in this brief event.

Dr Najat Mohammed Issa Al Zadjali expressed her gratitude and happiness towards Badr Al Samaa management and staff for providing world-class treatment at an affordable cost for the people of Al Batinah. She has requested to add facilities like CT,

MRI and Nephrology immediatel­y. Badr Al Samaa management updated her about the immediate plans to start CT, MRI and Dialysis services.

Sameer P T, CEO indicated that Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals will be adding more and facilities and services in Sohar Branch. He said we’ll commission CT Scan, MRI, Dialysis and Cath Lab very soon. He said the people of Al Batinah will no longer be required to travel to Muscat for advanced treatment. He said Badr Al Samaa will be launching its 13th branch soon in Mabella.

Regarding neonatolog­y facilities, Dr Swetha Priya Siddareddy, Neonatolog­ist said that Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Sohar is well equipped for taking care of preterm, low birth weight babies. Not only that, she added, invasive and invasive ventilatio­n, Surfactant therapy and intensity photothera­py light also available in the department.

The neonatolog­y department of Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Sohar has already become the hub of referral centre especially for extremely low birth weight and pre-term babies in the private healthcare of North Al Batinah Governorat­e.
