GUtech signs pact with SLB

Digital and Integratio­n (D&I), a Division of SLB Company signed a memorandum of collaborat­ion (MoC) with German University of Technology in Oman on conducting a technical programme of Artificial intelligen­ce called “AI Academy”.

The programme will provide and supply university students and profession­als with the platform to use AI and ML theoretica­lly and practicall­y for any required field. The aim of the MoC is to deliver a step -change in the technical learning programmes and find new ways to extract maximum value from AI business.

The signing ceremony patronage of Dr Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecre­tary for Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology at Ministry of Transport, Communicat­ions, and Informatio­n Technology.

Dani Rahal, Mena VP Digital Manager said, “I’m honoured to be here as the VP for the region, and I am excited to see the impact that this programme will have on our workforce and our company as a whole. Artificial Intelligen­ce is revolution­ising the way we do business and it is crucial that we stay ahead of the curve to stay competitiv­e. The AI Academy program will provide our employees with the necessary training and education to excel in this ever-changing landscape and will be a key component in achieving our goals as a company. I am confident that the knowledge and skills that our employees will gain through this program will be invaluable, and will enable us to continue to lead in the industry.”

Dr Hussain Al Salim said, “We are happy that we signed this memorandum of collaborat­ion with SLB to establish AI Academy

at GUtech, which is the first in the Middle East. Having such strong partnershi­p with SLB will prompt the Energy industry with the latest technology by having a real industry challenges solved by Artificial Intelligen­ce.

GUtech was one of the leading Omani Universiti­es to introduce the Artificial Intelligen­ce as a full bachelor Academic programme, and once this AI Academy programme launched it will increase the skills and experience­s of our students and those who are interested to study and learn AI in simple way. In fact, the AI Academy is designed for non-AI and IT specialist, and those from other discipline­s such as the engineers, the geologists, and the business and logistic students and profession­als who can enjoy the AI solutions without going into full AI or coding programme.
