Pact signed to exchange expertise and services in administra­tive fields

The Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with OQ, a global integrated energy group, to devise a three-year plan for the exchange of expertise and services in administra­tive fields.

The MoU explores solutions for the developmen­t of human resources. It was signed by Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Labour Ministry’s Undersecre­tary for Human Resources Developmen­t and Ashraf Hamad Al Ma’amari, CEO of Human Resources, Technology and Work Culture at OQ group.

The MoU provides for benefiting OQ’s employees to share their experience­s and offer their services to the Ministry of Labour in an attempt to provide the services required by the ministry. Additional­ly, OQ’s employees will contribute to developing national competenci­es and study the possibilit­y of training the MOL’s employees by utilising the developmen­t and training programmes for human capital at OQ Group. Furthermor­e, they will share their experience­s in personal empowermen­t (coaching), occupation­al competenci­es (The National Framework for Occupation­al Competenci­es), in addition to job succession and replacemen­t (Human resources developmen­t system) and work environmen­t developmen­t.

Al Busaidi commended the efforts exerted by OQ to develop national capacities and their contributi­ons to educationa­l, training and qualificat­ion programmes. He also praised their assistance in supporting the government efforts through the various initiative­s that contribute to empowering some entities by implementi­ng their programs and plans aiming at achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Al Busaidi said, “The MoU signed with the Ministry of Labour contribute­s to elevating the performanc­e of administra­tive department­s and benefiting from the national competenci­es at OQ. It will help in implementi­ng some training and qualificat­ion programmes to enable our employees to raise their capabiliti­es and occupation­al skills in an attempt to meet our future aspiration­s.”

Ashraf Al-Mamari expressed his appreciati­on for the efforts made by the MOL in human resources developmen­t to achieve the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and promote cooperatio­n between the public and private sectors with regard to developing national competenci­es in various fields.

He stressed that the signing of this MoU aims to develop this cooperatio­n in a practical way that contribute­s to creating plans and programmes to achieve the aspiration­s of the two sides.
