Al Mouj Muscat signs agreement with Tadweer to recycle e-waste

Al Mouj Muscat has entered into an agreement with an Omani SME Tadweer to remove and recycle e-waste generated by residents as part of the award-winning community’s focus on environmen­tal and economic sustainabi­lity.

Tadweer operates ‘end-to-end’ e-waste processing facility in Barka, the first of its kind in the Sultanate and now through the new partnershi­p, the recycling service will now be available to the leading lifestyle destinatio­n an initiative that will benefit the environmen­t and local enterprise.

Al Mouj Muscat are leaders in sustainabi­lity and its support of SMEs and green initiative­s continues to have a demonstrab­le impact for Oman. Energy efficienci­es have been introduced throughout the community and Tadweerwil­l ensure that residents can safely dispose of household items, supporting­the environmen­tal aims of Oman Vision 2040 by recovering value from materials and reducing the amount of waste produced.

Through Tadweer items that have reached the end of their product life, such as fridges, washing machines, printers and computers , will be collected and raw materials including plastic, steel, aluminium and silver, will be used again. The service for residents will also include the collection of domestic batteries and used cooking oil.

Our sustainabi­lity strategy ensures that we continuall­y introduce ways to reduce our carbon footprint and seek opportunit­ies to partner with SMEs to champion growth, job creation and economic diversific­ation.
