HIS MAJESTY, EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT HOLD DISCUSSIONS TO BOOST BILATERAL TIES
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el Sisi discuss ways to promote joint interests
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdul Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt held an official session of talks at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo on Sunday evening. At the outset of the session, the Egyptian President reiterated his heartfelt welcome for His Majesty the Sultan as a dear guest of Egypt and its people. He wished His Majesty the Sultan and his official delegation a happy stay. On his turn, His Majesty the Sultan reciprocated the kind sentiments, thanking the President for the warm welcome and sincere hospitality.
Deep-rooted relations
The two leaders reviewed the distinguished relations and the deeprooted historical bonds binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt. They also explored various aspects of the existing bilateral cooperation in all fields and contemplated ways of consolidating the joint interests in a manner that generates bounty and benefits to the two countries’ peoples.
His Majesty the Sultan and the Egyptian President also exchanged views on various developments at the regional and international arenas.
The session of talks was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. From the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-inChief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister, Major General
