CCED implements innovative energy management solution

-

Aiming to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and promote sustainable power generation, CC Energy Development (CCED) has implemented an innovative energy management solution.

Partnering with Advanced Modular Power Systems (AMPS) and United Engineering Services (UES), the three companies completed the installation, commissioning, and testing of a unit deployed by AMPS to efficiently manage one of CCED’s remotely located electrical submersible pumps.

“We are pleased to collaborate with AMPS and UES to trial this smart solution and successfully improve the quality of our power as well as deliver uninterrupted power. Reducing generator run time by more than 50% resulted in lowering our diesel consumption and cutting CO2 emissions by 30%,” said Walter Simpson, Managing Director of CC Energy Development. “By leveraging this technology, we took another important step in transforming into a cost-effective producer with a low environmental footprint and increased productivity,”

Mike Gallagher, CEO of Advanced Modular Power Systems, said, “This innovative solution provides the most efficient and lowest emission power supply for generator units in remote locations. The Patented Battery and Control system ensures 100% uptime for Electrical Submersible Pumps, a critical feature especially significant during unplanned generator shutdowns. This level of reliability ensures that operations continue without interruption, enhancing overall productivity and reducing production deferment.”

While exploring for and producing oil and gas is its core business, CCED is committed to adopting sustainable, low-carbon practices by leveraging the latest technologies. One of the company’s objectives is to reach zero emissions from gas flaring by 2027. A recent milestone in this regard was when, in 2023, its Gas-To-Power project became operational, which has turned CCED into one of the pioneers in reducing the quantity of flared gas and removing the gas from the system to replace diesel.
