Burjeel Hospital launches first-of-its-kind Paediatric Haematology Clinic
Burjeel Hospital AlKhuwair, Muscat is proud to announce the expansion of its Centre of Excellence - Paediatric Department, with the launch of an exclusive Paediatric Haematology Clinic. This clinic is the first of its kind in the private healthcare sector in Oman and aims to provide specialized care for children with blood-related disorders.
Paediatric haematology disorders have a significant prevalence in Oman. Recognizing this need, Burjeel Hospital Al-Khuwair has established the Pediatric Haematology Clinic to address these conditions comprehensively. The clinic will offer early detection, accurate diagnosis, and advanced treatment modalities for a range of blood-related disorders including anaemia (iron deficiency anaemia, sickle cell anaemia, and thalassemia), bleeding disorders (hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders), and blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma). In a recent Continuing Medical Education (CME) event held on February 25, 2024, Dr Aabideen conducted a session titled “Updates in Pediatric Hematology.” Eminent doctors attended the event, where they discussed advanced diagnosis and treatment modalities for bloodrelated disorders.
Dr Ibrahim Al Ghaithi, Consultant Pediatric Hematology Oncology from The Royal Hospital, Oman graced the event as the guest of honour. The event provided a platform for sharing knowledge and insights into the latest developments in the field.
