SNGPL continues gas theft crackdown

(Lahore) During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a and Islamabad, disconnect­ing another 162 connection­s: Rs. 8.27 million fine imposed

In Lahore, the regional team disconnect­ed 3 connection­s on the illegal use of gas. In Multan 12 connection­s were disconnect­ed on illegal use while another three were disconnect­ed on use of the compressor. The team also lodged 2 FIRs against gas thieves.

In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnect­ed 118 connection­s on account of direct use of gas and illegal use of gas and amount of Rs. 4.67 million against gas theft cases. The team also lodged 14 FIRs against gas thieves In Sahiwal two connection­s were disconnect­ed on illegal use of gas.

In Faisalabad, the team disconnect­ed 3 connection­s for illegal use of gas while imposing a fine of Rs. 0.08 against gas pilfers. The regional team of Bahawalpur disconnect­ed 2 connection­s on illegal use of gas and another seven on the use of a compressor and also booked an amount of Rs 0.35 against gas theft cases. In Gujranwala, two connection­s were disconnect­ed for the illegal use of gas while one on the use of a compressor. The team also imposed a fine of Rs. 0.46 against gas theft cases. The regional team of Mardan disconnect­ed 08 connection­s on illegal use of gas and also imposed a fine of Rs. 0.16 against gas theft cases. In Sargodha, one connection was disconnect­ed by the team for illegal use of gas while imposing a fine of Rs. 2.55 million against gas pilferers.
