AHMAD RAFAY ALAM ELECTED AS NEW LWMC CHAIRMAN

LAHORE Waste Management Company’s (LWMC) board of directors unanimousl­y elected Ahmad Rafay Alam as new chairman of the company. Ahmad is renowned advocate and an environmen­tal expert. The 43rd meeting of Lahore Waste Management Company’s (LWMC)Board of Directors was held in the head office of the company. Ahmad Rafay Alam is already serving LWMC board of directors and has many times served as acting chairman in the absence of chairman during the period of Khawaja Ahmad Hassan.

Member Provincial Assembly Bushra Anjum Butt, Dr. Syeda Mah Jabeen Abidi, WWF CEO Hammad Naqi attended the meeting as new members of board whereas MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir, CEO Urban Unit Dr. Nasir Javed, Senior Chief Planning and Developmen­t Aslam Javed also took part in the proceeding­s of the meeting.

Besides the appointmen­t of new chairman, board meeting also approved a new organogram for the company, new names for several committees of the board, extension of labour contract and adoption of Lahore Compost and appointmen­t of new General Manager Operation. Managing Director LWMC Bilal Mustafa attended the meeting from South Korea via Skype.
