‘PML-Q will cut to the chase’
“Our party will play an active role with the rest of the Opposition,” Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) President Shujat Hussain and senior central leader Parvez Elahi said while addressing a gathering of their party’s assembly members, district presidents and general secretaries at Zahoor Elahi House on Thursday.
Panama Leaks, lack of government’s interest in the problems faced by the people and the attitude of the government towards antistate elements had created uproar in country, they said, adding that the government would be held accountable for its doings.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan called us to participate in the anti-government rally and we have decided to join the Opposition in the protest against the government,” they said. Addressing the meeting, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, Ch Zaheeruddin and Muhammad Basharat Raja said that the circumstances in the country were changing quickly and the government would be held accountable. During the meeting, Pakistan Peoples’ Party Ulema Wing leaders Maulana Muhammad Aslam, Mohammad Siddique Siddiqui, Tanvir Ahmad, Abdul Haq and Amjad Ali also joined PML-Q. The meeting was also attended by MPAs Aamir Sultan Cheema, Vickas Mokal, Ahmad Shah Khagga and Khadeeja Umar Farooqui, Mian Imran Masood, Gul Agha, Khurrum Munawwar Manj, Dr Azeemuddin Lakhvi, Shaafey Hussain, Sameena Khawar Hayat, Amna Ulfat, Majida Zaidi and Kanwak Naseem and other leaders.
