Elements involved in sit-ins irritated by ‘our welfare projects’: CM Sharif
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that rejected elements should not try to create hurdles in the process of progress and development.
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that the elements involved in sit-ins are irritated at the projects aimed at welfare of poor masses and are showing their enmity to the people through negative protest politics. He said that rejected elements should not try to create hurdles in the process of progress and development. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is aimed at elimination of poverty, unemployment and extremism from the region. He said that those who were creating obstacles in CPEC are not well-wishers of the nation. Sharif said that Pakistan cannot afford politics of protest and anarchy. He said that investment of USD 46 billion by China will change the destiny of the nation, but it is intolerable to such politicians. The chief minister further said that enlightened people of Pakistan will not allow anyone to undermine the interests of the country and will reject protest politics. He said that Punjab government is implementing a balanced policy for development of the province and work is continuing speedily on projects worth billions of rupees for the progress of south Punjab. He said that ten per cent higher quota has been allocated for south Punjab in development projects.
