Senate urges int’l community to stop India from creating war mania
ALSO CONDEMNS ALTAF HUSSAIN’S ANTIPAKISTAN REMARKS
The Senate began its 253rd session in Islamabad on Monday afternoon with Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani in the chair.
The chairman announced the panel of presiding officers for the current session. It Includes Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi and Samina Abid.
The members of the Senate said that India will be given a crushing blow if it tried to indulge in any kind of aggression against Pakistan. The members said that all the political parties and the people of the country were fully behind the armed forces to defeat any Indian misadventure.
They strongly condemned the statements made by the Indian prime minister against Pakistan.
The senators demanded the international community to take notice of the human rights violations and brutalities against the innocent Kashmiris and India’s interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
The members commended the speech of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at United Nations General Assembly for highlighting Indian atrocities and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
The Senate on Monday passed a unanimous resolution urging the United Nations to hold an independent inquiry into the Uri incident to take it to its logical conclusion.
Earlier, speaking on the ‘The Panama Papers Inquiries Bill, 2016’, Law Minister Zahid Hamid described the bill as blatantly discriminatory. He said the bill is designed specifically for Panama Papers, targeting only specific persons and excluding all other people whose names appeared in the leaks.
The Senate passed a resolution strongly condemning the remarks made by Altaf Hussain regarding Pakistan, chanting slogans against Pakistan and instigating his party workers to attack media houses in Karachi on 22 August.
“This house strongly condemns the remarks made by Altaf Hussain regarding Pakistan, chanting slogans against Pakistan and instigating his party workers to attack media houses in Karachi on August 22,” said the resolution adopted by the house.
The resolution was moved by Saeedul Hassan Mandokhail.
Earlier, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani gave ruling on the issue granting permission to the member to move this resolution as an extraordinary matter. Eleven bills were introduced in the Senate on Monday.
