Power projects being completed speedily, PML-N leaders say

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Tuesday said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, various power projects were being completed speedily and that a lot of work had been done during the last three years.

Talking to APP, PML-N leader and Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq said several power projects were in the final stage of completion, and added that energy projects were being set up in the country including Punjab.

He said that power stations are being set up speedily under CPEC and work was in progress round-theclock on 1320-megawatt coal-power plant in Sahiwal which will start production from June next year.

To a question, Siddiqul Farooq said sit-in politics had caused delay in various public welfare projects including energy projects and that attempts were being made again to create hurdle in programmes of prosperity through politics of chaos.

MPA Majid Jahangir said that work on gas-power projects was also in progress, and added that thousands of megawatts of electricit­y would be added to the national grid with the completion of power projects by the end of 2017.

To a question, he said that those indulging in sit-in politics should learn a lesson from the by-election results in Taxila and Chichawatn­i.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Parliament­ary Secretary for Health Khawaja Imran Nazir said that the PML-N government was completing public welfare projects at a fast pace and that resources had been diverted to the lessdevelo­ped areas.
