COAS rewards WAPDA personnel who thwarted terror attack
LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday presented cash award worth Rs. one million and a souvenir each to the two WAPDA security personnel in recognition of their bravery to counter terrorist attack at Christian Colony located in the outskirts of Warsak Dam on September 2. WAPDA security personnel who were honoured include Security Sergeant Khaud Ali Khan and Security Guard Najeem Ali Khan The COAS appreciated WAPDA security personnel for showing bravery during the attack. Meanwhile, WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R), in a statement, expressed his gratitude to the chief of army staff for honouring the security personnel. He also appreciated the efforts being made by Pakistan Army to weed the menace of terrorism out of the country. WAPDA security personnel, deputed at the Christian Colony, were the first to encounter the terrorists at the colony gate on the day of the attack. They kept the terrorists engaged till the personnel of Pakistan Army and other security agencies reached the location.
