Power projects nearing completion: PML-N leaders

Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders Wednesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, various power projects were being completed quickly and a lot of work had been done during the last three years.

PML-N leader and Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq said that several power projects were in the final stage of completion. He said that energy projects were being set up in the entire country including Punjab. He said that power stations were being set up speedily under CPEC and work was in progress roundthe-clock on 1320-megawatt coal-power plant in Sahiwal which would start production from June next year.

To a question, Siddiqul Farooq said that sit-in politics had caused delay in various public welfare projects including energy projects and attempts were being made again to create hurdle in programmes of prosperity through politics of chaos.

MPA Majid Jahangir said that work on gas-power projects was also in progress. He said that thousands of megawatts electricity would be added to national grid with the completion of power projects till the end of 2017. To a question, he said that those indulging in sit-in politics should learn a lesson from the by-election results in Taxila and Chichawatni.

Pakistan Muslim LeagueN leader and Parliamentary Secretary for Health Khawaja Imran Nazir said that the PML-N government was completing public welfare projects at a fast pace and resources had been diverted to less-developed areas.
