OVER 150,000 GET ACCESS TO CLEAN DRINKING WATER IN PUNJAB

MORE than 150,000 people in far-flung areas of Punjab including Minchanaba­d, Hasilpur, Khanpur, Lodhran and Dunyapur tehsils now have uninterrup­ted access to clean and safe drinking water from state-of-the-art water filtration plants, installed by the Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC).

Five water filtration plants have been installed in villages of Bunga Akbar Mari Nehal, Munshi Autar, Khazan Singh Dhudi, Hazara Singh and Rehana Bhand Wali in tehsil Minchanaba­d, which were inaugurate­d by MPA Mian Shaukat Ali Laleka and MNA Asghar Shah, according to a press release on Wednesday.

In tehsil Hasilpur, six water filtration plants were inaugurate­d by MPA Muhammad Afzal Gill in 13Fordwa, 17-Fordwa, 161Murad, 184-Murad, 19-Fordwa and 65-Fateh villages for supply of clean drinking water to marginalis­ed communitie­s.

Four water filtration plants have been installed in villages of Dhup Sari, Basti Balochan, 132-133 1-L and 110 1-L in tehsil Kahnpur, which were inaugurate­d by MPA Chaudhry Ijaz Shafi.

In tehsil Lodhran, three water filtration plants were inaugurate­d by MPA Ahmad Khan Baloch in villages of Basti Piplal Wala Moza Gogran, Gogran near BHU and Dear Dur Muhammad Moza Rawani.

Two plants were inaugurate­d in villages of Jalla Araien Chak 1-4 MRP and Kotli Wajva in Tehsil Dunyapur by MPA Pir Amer Iqbal Qureshi.
