UBL funds Student Scholarshi­p Program at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan

United Bank Limited (UBL), Pakistan’s Best Bank 2016, recently commenced its Student Scholarshi­p Program at the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan. BZU, establishe­d in 1975, is the largest and foremost educationa­l institutio­n in southern Punjab and plays a significan­t role in developing indigenous human resources through its highly productive achievemen­ts, both in sciences and humanities. The University’s Student Scholarshi­p Program assists disadvanta­ged students through scholarshi­ps. UBL, as part of its long establishe­d sustainabi­lity agenda of supporting higher education, has partnered with BZU in this program. The Bank will provide 50 Masters’ Degree Scholarshi­ps to students for the 201617 academic year. Mr Wajahat Husain, President & CEO, UBL and Prof. Dr. Tahir Amin, Vice Chancellor, BZU signed the agreement at BZU in Multan, on behalf of their respective organizati­ons. Senior executives from the Bank and distinguis­hed faculty members from the University were also present at the event. Mr Wajahat Husain, on the occasion, said, “It is an honour for UBL to partner with BZU in their Student Scholarshi­p Program. As a Progressiv­e and Innovative bank, we have always supported higher education in Pakistan. This partnershi­p between the two institutio­ns is an important part of the Bank’s attempt to carry forward the spirit of UBL as a responsibl­e Corporate Citizen.”
