Iranian AG seeks exchange of prisoners

ISLAMABAD: The Attorney General (AG) of Iran, Seyyed Muhammad Jafar Montazeri, called on Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Anwar Zaheer Jamali, here on Tuesday and apprised him concerning different agreements between the two countries on issues such as the exchange of prisoners, and emphasized their implementation, so they could be of benefit the people of both countries. He requested the CJP to take steps for release of Iranian people held in Pakistani jails for different cases. The CJP assured him that he would consider the proposal if it was taken up through official channels.
