Turkey seeks enhanced trade with Pakistan: Ruhi Deniz

Turkish Commercial Consellor Ruhi Deniz has said that Turkey has vast experience of exploiting hydro and other energy sources, both the countries could cooperate in this area on priority basis.

Ruhi Deniz on Friday visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to discuss ways and means to explore and create joint venture opportunit­ies between the two countries.

He said that the Turkish investors were well aware of the fact that there were ample opportunit­ies available to them in various sectors of economy. He said that both the countries have marvelous untapped business potential that needs to be realized by maximizing the involvemen­t of private sectors of the two countries.

He also called for more frequent exchange of business delegation­s so that the two sides could have first-hand knowledge of the available opportunit­ies in Pakistan and Turkey.

Speaking on the occasion, Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI said that Pakistan and Turkey have historic brotherly relations, thus both the countries should further strengthen the mutual trade relations by promoting business relations.

ICCI President expressed that it is the need of the hour to explore the possibilit­y of joint ventures between Turkey and Pakistan. He said that there are tremendous chances of collaborat­ion between Turkey and Pakistan for manufactur­ing of textile machinery in Pakistan.

He said that we can strengthen our economy by adopting the developmen­t and progress of Turkey as a model in numerous sectors especially energy as energy is an important issue for Pakistan's economic growth.

Bakhtawari said that many Turkish companies made investment in Pakistan in various sectors like energy and chemical and we are looking for others Turkish companies to invest in others fields as score of incentives are being provided by the government to the investors. He said all Muslim countries should further promote and strengthen their economic ties and cooperatio­n for exploiting the existing potential and ensuring maximum possible trade exchange. ICCI President also stressed the need for further cooperatio­n by the Turkish Air Line to make possible foe Pakistan to have direct air link with various countries like Azerbaijan, thus, by making a flight to Islamabad via Baku (Azerbaijan) would create a direct link between Azerbaijan and Pakistan as well.
