Rs0.5m com­put­erised land sys­tem launched

Pun­jab Co­op­er­a­tive Hous­ing Depart­ment has launched a new Rs 0.5 mil­lion com­put­er­ized land trans­fer min­i­miz­ing chances of frauds and tax eva­sion.

Inchrage Co­op­er­a­tive Hous­ing So­ci­eties ad­vi­sor to Pun­jab CM Raja Ish­faq Sar­war in­au­gu­rated the sys­tem of com­put­erised land trans­fer at the Tech Club at the Tech Hous­ing So­ci­ety here Fri­day.

Sec­re­tary Hous­ing Dr Amir and other se­nior of­fi­cials were also present on the oc­ca­sion. Raja Ish­faq said that ini­tially the com­put­erised land trans­fer sys­tem was be­ing in­tro­duced in two hos­ing so­ci­eties in Lahore and one in Rawalpindi. How­ever, by the year end the com­put­erised land trans­fer sys­tem would be func­tion­ing in 25 co­op­er­a­tive hous­ing so­ci­eties in Lahore and 10 in Rawalpindi.

Raja said that Pun­jab CM has been strug­gling to com­pu­trised all the records in the prov­ince to de­feat the haz­ardous pat­wari sys­tem and this was the one great step to­wards the di­rec­tion.

He said that the peo­ple have been fac­ing prob­lems due to the de­pre­ci­ated land trans­fer sys­tem but the new com­pu­trised trans­fer sys­tem would real serve the need of the own­ers of houses in Co­op­er­a­tive Hous­ing So­ci­eties. Sec­re­tary Co­op­er­a­tive Dr Amir said that the new sys­tem would boost trust of the in­vestors on the Co­op­er­a­tive hous­ing so­ci­ety by min­i­miz­ing the chances of frauds and fake trans­fers. Amir said that by the im­ple­men­ta­tion of new sys­tem tax eva­sion would also be dis­cour­aged to sig­nif­i­cant level.
