Rs0.5m computeris­ed land system launched

Punjab Cooperativ­e Housing Department has launched a new Rs 0.5 million computeriz­ed land transfer minimizing chances of frauds and tax evasion.

Inchrage Cooperativ­e Housing Societies advisor to Punjab CM Raja Ishfaq Sarwar inaugurate­d the system of computeris­ed land transfer at the Tech Club at the Tech Housing Society here Friday.

Secretary Housing Dr Amir and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. Raja Ishfaq said that initially the computeris­ed land transfer system was being introduced in two hosing societies in Lahore and one in Rawalpindi. However, by the year end the computeris­ed land transfer system would be functionin­g in 25 cooperativ­e housing societies in Lahore and 10 in Rawalpindi.

Raja said that Punjab CM has been struggling to computrise­d all the records in the province to defeat the hazardous patwari system and this was the one great step towards the direction.

He said that the people have been facing problems due to the depreciate­d land transfer system but the new computrise­d transfer system would real serve the need of the owners of houses in Cooperativ­e Housing Societies. Secretary Cooperativ­e Dr Amir said that the new system would boost trust of the investors on the Cooperativ­e housing society by minimizing the chances of frauds and fake transfers. Amir said that by the implementa­tion of new system tax evasion would also be discourage­d to significan­t level.
