Shahbaz urges harmony during Ashura

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the country is passing through a critical phase as it is facing serious issues like extremism and terrorism.
He said the enemy wants to destabilize the country and the extraordinary situation demands extraordinary measures. He said, whatever is humanly possible, is being done to maintain law and order and atmosphere of brotherhood during Moharram-ul-Haram.
He was presiding over a high- level meeting held to review law and order situation and security arrangements during Moharram- ul- Haram here Thursday. Senior Advisor Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Member Provincial Assembly Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman, Chief Secretary, Secretary Home, Secretary Health, Inspector General of Police and officers concerned attended the meeting. Different aspects of the tragic incident of Dhok Syedan Rawalpindi were reviewed in detail.
He said that the nefarious designs of the enemy would be defeated with the power of unity and brotherhood. He directed that senior police officers sitting in their offices should visit various districts to monitor security arrangements. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that no negligence would be tolerated in the implementation of the security plan evolved to ensure law and order during Moharram. He said that the organizers of Majalis and processions should be taken into confidence regarding security arrangements, while four-tier security arrangements plan around Majalis and processions should be strictly enforced.
