IWCCI delegation leaves for India to explore business opportunit­ies

A 20-member delegation of women entreprene­urs from Islamabad left for India through the Wagah border on a fifteen-day visit for a dialogue with their counterpar­ts on issues including bilateral trade, non-tariff barriers and visa policy.

The delegation under the leadership of Samina Fazil, Founder President Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) and Naima Ansari, former Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also explore business opportunit­ies. Apart from series of meetings, the delegation is also scheduled to participat­e in expos and conference­s at New Delhi, Agra, Ajmer and Jaipur and meet the top Indian trade officials.

Before leaving, Samina Fazil expressed hope that progress would be achieved during the visit, said a statement issued here adding that efforts are being made for the growth and promotion of trade and economic activities and the establishm­ent of cordial rela- tions between the two countries.

She expressed the hope that meetings with the officials of Internatio­nal Federation of Women Entreprene­urs, PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry will be fruitful.

Samina Fazil said that women entreprene­urs will have exposure and capacity building opportunit­ies and they will be able to bridge gap among business women of India and other countries. They will find a good inter- national platform to promote their business through women to women networking, she added. We will also inform Indian business women about sentiments of Pakistani business community regarding the MFN status to India. "We would be representi­ng good image of Pakistan," she said. Apart from trade, our business leaders want that the two countries should also focus cooperatio­n in the fields of education and health, she said adding that the two countries can only prosper in presence of cordial atmosphere.
