Snapdeal hires former TaxiForSure tech head Amitava
DELHI: Online marketplace Snapdeal.com said on Thursday that it has hired ex-TaxiForSure executive Amitava Ghosh as its vice-president engineering.
Ghosh was previously the chief technology officer at cab aggregator TaxiForSure before the company got acquired by competitor Ola. Before that, he headed the India engineering team of Tribune Digital Ventures. He has also worked with Yahoo for almost a decade where he was responsible for building platforms and user experiences for listings, media verticals, communities and social products. Ghosh holds a masters in technology degree in biochemical engineering and biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Ghosh will work out of the company's technology innovation centre in Bengaluru. Currently, 200 employees work out of this office. The company plans to double the number by the end of this year.
