Vistara woos business class passengers with courteous tickets

MUMBAI: Promotions are pouring in from airlines and now, it's the turn of Vistara run by Tata SIA Airlines Ltd. The airline will present all its business class passengers travelling from 12 August to 30 September, a compliment­ary premium economy class ticket on its network. This is to celebrate the airline's 5,00,000th customer this month.

"As our operations started in January this year, we are very proud to be reaching this special milestone so soon after the launch. As the month rolls on, special offers and initiative­s will be announced as a gesture of gratitude to Vistara's customers," Vistara said on its website. The voucher can be redeemed for travel from 12 August 2015 to 15 October 2015, subject to availabili­ty of seats, and for bookings made at least 48 hours in advance, the airline said. Vistara's offer is only till 15 October for flying as the December quarter is considered the peak season for domestic airlines because of festivals and holidays falling in the period.

Vistara now offers 243 weekly frequencie­s connecting 10 destinatio­ns. Tata SIA Airlines, known by the brand name Vistara, is a joint venture between Tata Sons Ltd and Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA) with Tata Sons holding the majority stake of 51% in the company and SIA holding the rest. Separately, AirAsia India, a low fare airline promoted by Tata Sons and AirAsia Group Bhd has offered all-inclusive fares from Rs.990 for a one-way ticket to celebrate carrying its 1 million passengers. AirAsia India's booking period for this promotion is from 10-16 August 2015, with the travel period from 15 February 2016 to 16 August 2016.
