Pak to host SAFA Con­fer­ence 2016

The In­sti­tute of Char­tered Ac­coun­tants of Pak­istan (ICAP) brings the priv­i­lege home as it will host the con­fer­ence of South Asian Fed­er­a­tion of Ac­coun­tants (SAFA) this year in La­hore. Pres­i­dent ICAP Hafiz Mo­ham­mad Yousuf and Pres­i­dent SAFA Naeem Akhtar Sheikh dis­closed this in a cur­tain raiser event held to an­nounce the Con­fer­ence.

This SAFA Con­fer­ence2016 will be held on January29-30, 2016 at a lo­cal ho­tel in La­hore. Pres­i­dent ICAP men­tioned that the Coun­cil of the In­sti­tute was de­lighted and is very proud that its past pres­i­dent and cur­rent Coun­cil mem­ber, Naeem Akhtar Sheikh has been elected as Pres­i­dent SAFA this year.

He em­pha­sized that host­ing this con­fer­ence will bring to­gether the South Asian coun­tries and will open new doors of op­por­tu­ni­ties for Pak­istan. Hafiz Mo­ham­mad Yousaf added that this con­fer­ence will serve the pub­lic in­ter­est and con­trib­ute to­wards de­vel­op­ment of eco­nomic pol­icy, cor­po­rate gov­er­nance, and growth of trade and in­dus­try and for a bet­ter tax regime. It has been the En­deav­our of ICAP to fa­cil­i­tate the govern­ment and pub­lic by sug­gest­ing ef­fi­cient and ef­fec­tive ways for man­age­ment of cur­rent eco­nomic is­sues.

Fed­eral Min­is­ter of Fi­nance Sen­a­tor Mo­ham­mad Ishaq Dar, Min­is­ter for Plan­ning, De­vel­op­ment and Re­forms Ah­san Iqbal, rep­re­sen­ta­tives, del­e­gates and pro­fes­sional ex­perts of SAARC coun­tries in­clud­ing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, In­dia, Mal­dives, Nepal, Pak­istan and Sri Lanka will par­tic­i­pate in the con­fer­ence.
