Keeping money in bank accounts no more safe

Keeping money in bank accounts is no more safe in our country as hackers can deprive one's hard earned money by hacking once account, it was learnt reliably. In a recent incident hackers have deprived a Standard Chartered Bank account holder Tehreem, daughter of DG C&W Muhammad Nawaz of Rs 0.3 million, sources said. The accounthol­der approached her bank, however, the bank denied that her account was operated by hackers; the bank accounthol­der was quoted as saying. It was said that she contacted Federal Investigat­ion Agency FIA cybercrime unit and the agency has started probe. The accounthol­der said that she came to know about the fact when she received message from the bank. Following she applied to the FIA, the agency has put all out efforts to nab the culprit by using cybercrime applicatio­n. However, the culprits are still at large, it was said. The robberies from the online bank accounts have increased during the last six months. Earlier, a Habib Bank Lahore accounthol­der Aslam was deprived of his Rs 30,000 from Islamic Bank ATM. The skimmers withdrew Rs 30000 from his account and when he approached his bank HBL near Nila Gunbad Branch, the bank replied it was not their fault. He, however, had to register complaint at the Banking Ombudsman. Similar, incidents have also been reported in Rawalpindi where skimmers have deprived the bank customers of their money.
