Shahab Rizvi replaces Atif Bajwa as President OICCI
Shahab Rizvi, Country President and Chief Executive Officer, Novartis Pharma (Pakistan) Limited has been elected as the President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) for the year 2016.
This was announced at the 156th Annual General Meeting of the OICCI held at the Chamber on Monday. Khalid Mansoor, Chief Executive Officer, Hub Power Company Limited was elected as the Vice President. The other elected members of the OICCI Managing Committee for 2016 are Aftab Husain Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Refinery Limited, Kimihide Ando Chief Executive Officer, Mitsubishi Corporation, Marek Andrzej Minkiewicz Chief Executive Officer, Metro Habib Cash & Carry Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, Mr. Nauman Ansari President & Chief Executive Officer, Faysal Bank Limited, Mr. Nadeem Lodhi Managing Director, & Chief Executive Officer, Citibank N.A Pakistan, Mr. Omar Yaqoob Sheikh Chairman and Managing Director, Shell Pakistan Limited, Mr. Sami Ahmed Chief Executive Officer, Procter and Gamble Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, Ms. Zehra Naqvi Chief Executive Officer, ACE Insurance Limited.
The Incoming OICCI President Shahab Rizvi in his message to the members said OICCI's active participation in streamlining taxation system, policy input on resolving energy supply gap, improving security environment especially in Karachi and very important contribution towards improving IPR regime in Pakistan will be the key areas of focus during the year.
We need to do what it takes to facilitate in substantially increasing the FDI inflow in the country which regrettably has gone well below acceptable level despite improvement in the macroeconomic parameters.
He informed that OICCI members invest in excess of US$ One billion in capital expenditure every year. Shahab has been with the Health Sector since 2001, joining Novartis initially in Pakistan as Divisional Head for Consumer Health and subsequently moving to Middle East in 2004, based in Dubai as BU Head for Consumer Health (OTC) covering GCC (excl. KSA), Levant, Iraq & Iran.
