MCB Bank bags SAFA Award

MCB Bank Ltd, Pak­istan's lead­ing pri­vate sec­tor bank, was awarded the SAFA Best Pre­sented An­nual Re­port 2014 in the cat­e­gory of pri­vate sec­tor banks at the SAFA Con­fer­ence 2016. The Award was pre­sented to Pres­i­dent MCB, Imran Maq­bool by the Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Fi­nance Mr. Mo­ham­mad Ishaq Dar in recog­ni­tion of the bank's ex­cel­lence in fi­nan­cial re­port­ing, man­age­ment best prac­tices and cor­po­rate gov­er­nance dis­clo­sures.

MCB Bank Ltd has also re­ceived nu­mer­ous other ac­co­lades in the past, in­clud­ing "Best Bank in Pak­istan 2015" award from Fi­nance Asia and "Most Sta­ble Bank of the Year 2014" by CFA.

ICAP, the premier reg­u­la­tory body for the de­vel­op­ment and regulation of Ac­coun­tancy pro­fes­sion in Pak­istan hosted SAFA (South Asian Fed­er­a­tion of Ac­coun­tants) con­fer­ence in La­hore.

The con­fer­ence, en­ti­tled South Asia: Cor­ri­dor of op­por­tu­ni­ties en­com­passed one and a half days of learn­ing, net­work­ing and cel­e­bra­tions. The con­fer­ence was at­tended by high pro­file lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional speak­ers com­pris­ing of rep­utable busi­ness­men, econ­o­mists and se­nior Char­tered Ac­coun­tants.

MCB Bank Lim­ited is among the top 5 Banks in Pak­istan with a net as­set base of Rs 1 tril­lion. The bank has a vast branch net­work of 1,246 lo­cal branches, 11 for­eign branches and an em­ployee base that ex­ceeds 17,500. The bank con­tin­ues its strong per­for­mance and re­cently posted an in­crease of 12% in profit af­ter tax of Rs20.2b in first nine months of 2015.
