KP Speaker inaugurates E-governance project
PESHAWAR: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaiser Friday formally inaugurated E-Governance Computer Project in the provincial assembly. Besides others, Special Secretary Assembly, Attaullah Khan were also present on the occasion and gave detailed regarding the project. Addressing the ceremony, Speaker Asad Qaiser said that the project will cost Rs.70 million and under a phase-wise programme, it will complete within a period of two years.
He said that after the launching of E-Governance System, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has become nine legislature of the world having this facility. He said that Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has appreciated the
performance of E-governance system of KP assembly and deputed two officers of the NA Secretariat for necessary training at KP Assembly Secretariat. Under the system, he said the legislators will dispatch their questions, motions and resolutions, while 10 big display screens have also been installed under the program. He added that the computers have also been installed in the Assembly Hall under one-touch system.
The Speaker said that members of the House will be imparted necessary training for running the procedure of the assembly under the E-governance system. He said that under this new computerized system, a high quality big
screen has been installed in the Assembly Hall while arrangements for live coverage from the House will also be available. He further said that after the introduction of E-governance system, file system from the Assembly Secretariat will be abolished in phases.
