KP Speaker in­au­gu­rates E-gov­er­nance pro­ject

PE­SHAWAR: Speaker Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa As­sem­bly, Asad Qaiser Fri­day for­mally in­au­gu­rated E-Gov­er­nance Com­puter Pro­ject in the pro­vin­cial as­sem­bly. Be­sides oth­ers, Spe­cial Sec­re­tary As­sem­bly, At­taullah Khan were also present on the oc­ca­sion and gave de­tailed re­gard­ing the pro­ject. Ad­dress­ing the cer­e­mony, Speaker Asad Qaiser said that the pro­ject will cost Rs.70 mil­lion and un­der a phase-wise pro­gramme, it will com­plete within a pe­riod of two years.

He said that af­ter the launch­ing of E-Gov­er­nance Sys­tem, Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa As­sem­bly has be­come nine leg­is­la­ture of the world hav­ing this fa­cil­ity. He said that Speaker Na­tional As­sem­bly Ayaz Sadiq has ap­pre­ci­ated the

per­for­mance of E-gov­er­nance sys­tem of KP as­sem­bly and de­puted two of­fi­cers of the NA Sec­re­tar­iat for nec­es­sary train­ing at KP As­sem­bly Sec­re­tar­iat. Un­der the sys­tem, he said the leg­is­la­tors will dis­patch their ques­tions, mo­tions and res­o­lu­tions, while 10 big dis­play screens have also been in­stalled un­der the pro­gram. He added that the com­put­ers have also been in­stalled in the As­sem­bly Hall un­der one-touch sys­tem.

The Speaker said that mem­bers of the House will be im­parted nec­es­sary train­ing for run­ning the pro­ce­dure of the as­sem­bly un­der the E-gov­er­nance sys­tem. He said that un­der this new com­put­er­ized sys­tem, a high qual­ity big

screen has been in­stalled in the As­sem­bly Hall while ar­range­ments for live cov­er­age from the House will also be avail­able. He fur­ther said that af­ter the in­tro­duc­tion of E-gov­er­nance sys­tem, file sys­tem from the As­sem­bly Sec­re­tar­iat will be abol­ished in phases.
