Full dress re­hearsal of Pak­istan Day Pa­rade to­day

As part of prepa­ra­tions for Pak­istan Day Pa­rade, full dress re­hearsal would be held on Mon­day at the Pa­rade Venue here. Prepa­ra­tions of March 23 (Pak­istan Day) pa­rade holds a sig­nif­i­cant place in the his­tory of Pak­istan and to mark this day in a be­fit­ting man­ner, Armed Forces Pak­istan Day Pa­rade will be held in spec­tac­u­lar man­ner. As part of the ar­range­ments and to fa­cil­i­tate com­muters, spe­cial traf­fic ar­range­ments have been made for March 21 (Mon­day) and March 23 (Wed­nes­day).

In line to ap­prise the gen­eral pub­lic Traf­fic Plan for both the days is be­ing pub­li­cized through elec­tronic and print me­dia. Par­tic­i­pat­ing troops of the Pa­rade in­clud­ing foot col­umns of Army, Navy,

Pak­istan Air Force, Fron­tier Corps, North­ern Light In­fantry, Mu­jahid Force, Is­lam­abad Po­lice, tri-ser­vice Lady of­fi­cers, tri-ser­vice Armed Forces Nurs­ing Ser­vice, Girls Guide, Boys Scouts, Spe­cial Ser­vice Group from three Ser­vices, mech­a­nized col­umns of Ar­moured Corps, Ar­tillery, Army Air De­fence, Sig­nals, En­gi­neers, Army Strate­gic Force Com­mand, Camel Band and Pres­i­dent's Body Guard would par­tic­i­pate in the pa­rade. Scores of fighter air­craft of PAF, Pak­istan Navy and he­li­copters of Army

Avi­a­tion would re­hearse fly­past for the fi­nal day. Aer­o­bat­ics of PAF Sherdil team and JF-17 thun­der and F-16 would also be part of full dress re­hearsal. Sky­divers of three ser­vices would present para­jumps.

Mean­while, ac­cord­ing to the traf­fic plan is­sued by ISPR, for March 21 and March 23, en­try of all types of ve­hi­cles from Faiz­abad to Rawal Dam square and Zero Point in­ter­change will re­main closed from 6 am to 3 pm. En­try of heavy ve­hic­u­lar traf­fic will re­main closed at 12 am on March 20 to 1 pm on March 21, sim­i­larly from 12 am on March 22 to 3 pm on March 23. The ve­hic­u­lar traf­fic com­ing from Rawalpindi to Is­lam­abad on Ex­press­way would be di­verted from Mis­sile square to­wards Khanna Bridge, Cap­tain Faisal Sha­heed square to Rawal Dam, from there us­ing Mur­ree Raod and Kash­mir High­way it would be able to ac­cess Is­lam­abad. The ve­hic­u­lar traf­fic ap­proach­ing Is­lam­abad through IJP road would use the route of 9th Av­enue and then Kash­mir High­way while the traf­fic on Mur­ree Road from Rawalpindi would be di­verted to the Sta­dium Road thereby ac­cess­ing Is­lam­abad through 9th Av­enue and Kash­mir High­way.
