Nawaz vis­its hospital; di­rects best med­i­cal treat­ment to in­jured

Prime Min­is­ter Muham­mad Nawaz Sharif Mon­day said that the re­solve of the gov­ern­ment and na­tion to fight ter­ror­ism was get­ting stronger.

"Our goal is not only to elim­i­nate ter­ror in­fra­struc­ture but also the ex­trem­ist mind-set, which is a threat to our way of life," the Prime Min­is­ter said while chair­ing a meet­ing here to re­view La­hore ter­ror at­tack and the over­all strat­egy against ter­ror­ists. Ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease is­sued here from PM Of­fice, the meet­ing was briefed by heads of law en­force­ment and in­tel­li­gence agen­cies on dif­fer­ent leads-based progress re­gard­ing the La­hore ter­ror at­tack.

The Prime Min­is­ter said "Win­ning the war on ter­ror is im­per­a­tive for us. Our re­solve to fight ter­ror­ism as a na­tion and as a gov­ern­ment is get­ting stronger while the coward en­emy is try­ing to hit the soft targets."

The Prime Min­is­ter stressed upon more proac­tive co­or­di­na­tion be­tween the law en­force­ment and in­tel­li­gence agen­cies. The prov­inces should speed up in­tel­li­gence-based op­er­a­tions against ter­ror­ists, he said, adding "We must take this war to the doors of ter­ror­ist out­fits be­fore they are able to hit our in­no­cent coun­try­men." Ex­press­ing his strong re­solve, the Prime Min­is­ter said that ter­ror­ists had as­sas­si­nated our kids; sons and daugh­ters in this war, and God will­ing, they would be wiped out from this coun­try.

The meet­ing was at­tended by Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif, Min­is­ter for In­te­rior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Pun­jab Law Min­is­ter Rana Sanaullah Khan.

Di­rec­tor General In­tel­li­gence Bureau, Chief Sec­re­tary Pun­jab, Home Sec­re­tary Pun­jab, In­spec­tor General Pun­jab and other se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials were also present dur­ing the meet­ing. Ear­lier, Prime Min­is­ter Muham­mad Nawaz Sharif vis­ited Jin­nah Hospital Mon­day morn­ing to in­quire af­ter the health of Sun­day's blast in­jured. Prime Min­is­ter, ac­com­pa­nied by Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif and In­te­rior Min­is­ter Ch Nisar Ah­mad, went to the beds of sev­eral pa­tients, in­clud­ing chil­dren. He di­rected the hospital ad­min­is­tra­tion to pro­vide best pos­si­ble health treat­ment and fa­cil­i­ties to all the in­jured. He also prayed for the early re­cov­ery of all in­jured.
