Govt aims at Balochis­tan de­vel­op­ment: Pres­i­dent

ISLAMABAD: Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain has said that the gov­ern­ment is com­mit­ted to bring Balochis­tan prov­ince at par with other re­gions of the coun­try and in this re­gard is car­ry­ing out de­vel­op­ment work to im­prove the liv­ing stan­dard of the peo­ple of the prov­ince.

The Pres­i­dent said this while talk­ing to Speaker Balochis­tan As­sem­bly Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Dur­rani who called on him at the Ai­wan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wed­nes­day.

Ex­press­ing sat­is­fac­tion on im­proved law and or­der sit­u­a­tion in the prov­ince, the Pres­i­dent said that new av­enues of progress and pros­per­ity in Balochis­tan will open up af­ter the op­er­a­tional­iza­tion of Gwadar port and com­ple­tion of Chi­naPak­istan Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor.

The Pres­i­dent stated that re­vival of busi­ness and trade ac­tiv­i­ties in Balochis­tan would gen­er­ate em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties and put the prov­ince on the path to progress. The Pres­i­dent ap­pre­ci­ated the role of Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Dur­rani as Speaker Balochis­tan As­sem­bly in fur­ther strength­en­ing the demo­cratic dis­pen­sa­tion in the prov­ince.
