PSL 4: Sarfraz eyes title for Quetta Gladiators

-

Two-time runner-up Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfraz Ahmed has expressed his intentions to do the unprecedented by landing the title in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While talking to a local media outlet, the national skipper said that “Gladiators have a great combination with Sohail Tanvir and Ahmed Shehzad in the squad and we are eyeing the title this [coming] edition”.

“The local players have already joined the squad while the foreigners will be joining shortly,” he asserted when asked about the joining of foreign players.

“Gladiators’ foreign players, except for Aussie spin-king Shane Warne, will visit Pakistan when the league will move domestic,” he added.

When asked about the dressing room atmosphere, he asserted that “it is perfectly normal as he has no issue with anyone”.

Head coach Mickey Arthur has said that he is optimistic to find some raw talent from the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Cricket League (PSL).

“Talented [PSL] performers will surely be considered for the ICC World Cup,” Arthur said while talking to a local media house. “PSL is a fantastic step towards the revival of international cricket in Pakistan,” Arthur said in reply to a question regarding the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.

Arthur – who is also the head coach for Karachi Kings – said that his “love affair with Pakistan cricket started the first edition of PSL [in 2016]”.

He hoped that “this season [PSL 4] will be a huge success like the previous [three] editions”.
